The fight for equal rights is not over.
Republicans in state houses across our country are doing their best to diminish the most fundamental rights of LGBTQ+ citizens. As a transgender woman, I find it heartbreaking that we are still fighting for equal rights LGBTQ+ community members like myself. ​
Bottom line —
equal rights are non-negotiable.
Therefore, my platform takes the issue of equality for all head-on. We need to address and take on assaults from state legislators that are doing whatever they can to harm and threaten lives of LGBTQ+ people and their families. Such cruelty and discrimination should never be okay in America.
Additionally, it’s why we need to look at and address the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people, whether they are encountering housing discrimination, facing challenges accessing healthcare, or living as survivors of sexual violence, among many issues.
